The Algocatalyst is seen in this photograph transiting downbound in the Welland Canal for the first time on July 16th, 1999. At the time it was taken Algocatalyst was sailing northwards in the channel between lock 3 and Homer Bridge enroute to lock 2 in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada.

The tanker Algocatalyst is seen in this photograph secured alongside the Petro Canada dock in Nanticoke on July 25th, 2001. She was loading heavy fuel oil for Seven Islands, Quebec.

Algoma Tankers Ltd., Dartmouth, NS (division of Algoma Central Corp.) acquired the Enerchem fleet prior to the commencement of the 1999 navigation season. After being overhauled at Verrault Shipyards, she re-entered service as the Algocatalyst. The Algocatalyst currently carries petroleum products mostly between various ports along the St. Lawrence River but has spent some time this season at her lay-up berth at Sorel, PQ.
